I am Michelle Coutinho.

REAL TALK:
I know, I know, at first glance I look super woo.. but I may be the most grounded, East Coast gangster version of an authentic spiritual mentor that you'll ever meet.
Now, I do believe we all come from the cosmos and we are all made of stars. But I also do not fit into the modern Instagram version of the spiritual community.
I am way too direct and honest for the entire transformational festival scene. But because of my gypsy belly dancer mother + Ram Dass, I was spiritual in high school way before it became trendy.
I may have been a buddhist monk in a past life.
I am definitely an old school yogi in this one.
At 30 I simultaneously became a College professor (UX/UI) and a Yoga Teacher. I am a teacher first and foremost.
I love all things wisdom in the vein of Joseph Campbell, Ram Dass, Carl Jung and Rumi. One day, my book, Tuning to Wisdom will combine all of these truths into one sacred thread.
I believe there is a Sacred Thread woven throughout all religions. That thread is universal love or Christ Consciousness. But it’s not personal, the architecture is universal. This is what I teach.
I jokingly describe myself as an energy healer disguised as a coach. I believe our highest calling is to embody art.
As a ceremonial singer I feel most at home in shamanic command of a room. Leading meditations or transmitting ancient wisdom through prayers like Sanskrit mantras with my voice.
My coaching practice, Vocal Empowerment, initiates other leaders into their own power and allows them to trust their authority through intuitive counseling + pure transmission.

I kept putting other people's objectives before my own for so long. I healed a lot of ancestral pain. I cried for the first three sessions.
Through this work, I was able to release emotional weight I had been carrying for years. The process was deeply moving, and the space Michelle held allowed me to explore emotions I had long suppressed.

Why I do this work..
When someone is congruent, you feel it. What is interesting is that is increasingly rare. But when someone is in what I call, TRUE ALIGNMENT it mean their body, voice, values, intuition, and actions are all in harmony. In the Vedic system, this is likened to the Koshas. Mind, body and spirit are all one. This allows more of our soul to move through.
When we are in this state we naturally become more trustworthy, more loving, more present, and more effective as leaders.
Confidence and radiance follow as a consequence of congruence. It is not something we ‘manifest’ or grab at to achieve.
That is when the real magic happens. We become more than our conditioned patterns.
We become channels for healing light to flow through.
If we can show the whole world how to embody this, then there may just be peace on earth.
And if not in our lifetime, maybe in the times to come.
That is why I do this work. The mission is peace through service.
Present, grounded, heart-based leadership.
Which we need now more than ever.

I see myself as a Guide, a bit otherworldly of a role that nowadays we call Transformational Coach, but back in the day may have been called a doula, a wise-woman, Priestess, Oracle, Witch, Muse, or Dakini.
I like to think of myself as a ceremonial Teacher of Wisdom.
A Sage or Guide for the path ahead.
On the healer's journey, we are often asked to let go of everything we know in order to be transformed.
And I have walked myself through a few shamanic deaths + rebirths.
So now I specialize in guiding others through those threshold moments.
When everything in your life feels like it's falling apart.. it's actually becoming more congruent.
Trust it.
You may not be ‘too sensitive’ or shutdown.
You could just be carrying old patterns that no longer belong to you. And you are in transition.
If you’ve done all the healing and you even guide others, but still internally you don’t feel congruent.
